Sports Day 2016
Well done to all the children who participated in Sports Day 2016! We had loads of events, and everyone was in good humour for the day, even though the weather wasn't very summery! Enjoy some clips from video we took that day below.
Our events were run for each class and included:
School Tour 2016
We went on our school tour to the Let's Go camp in the Kingfisher Club in NUI Galway. It was brilliant fun! Watch our video below for some of the activities we did!
U12 County Champions
Nesting Lark Walk
Many of our classes took walks through the town during The Nesting Lark event, which was part of the Galway 2020 City of Culture bid. We looked at the discovery Bird Boxes, the murals, and the wildflowers and history around Headford.
Check out each class page for their updates on recent activities, and our news page for a gallery of our visits and walks to The Nesting Lark exhibits.
Tech Week Certificate
Congratulations to Kate, who received her certificate for representing the school by her participation in Tech Week 2016!
The Nesting Lark
We are currently collaborating with The Nesting Lark project in Headford, as part of the Galway 2020 European Capital of Culture bid. As well as helping local artists design discovery boxes around the town, we have been creating web pages and QR codes for people to find and learn about the project. We hope you enjoy it!
First Holy Communion
Congratulations to the children in Mrs Bríd Garvey's 2nd class, who made their First Holy Communion on Saturday 7th May. Everyone who participated did an excellent job, and everyone looked amazing! Well done!

Tech Week 2016
Kate in 5th class took part in this year's Tech Week initiative. She learned to use the programming language "Scratch" and created a set of animations and games. We are very proud of her work, and wish her the best of luck in the competition!
To see her animations and try out her games, follow this link to the blog entry.
Our 2nd Class Communion children are getting well prepared by now for the big day on May 7th! They are practising the prayers and procedures for the day, as well as learning about the meaning of the Eucharist. The older classes are helping with the choir. And while we're hard at work, we can still have some fun!
Some of our Write-A-Book award winners were at the Radisson Hotel in Galway on April 16th to collect their certificates and medals. We are so proud of our authors!
The 15th of March was Proclamation Day in schools all over Ireland. We were celebrating the centenary (100 years) of Ireland gaining independence after the Easter Rising in 1916. To see photos of our celebrations, visit our News page.
Enrolment Day 2015
We would like to say thank you and welcome to all the new children (and their parents!) who visited us on the 24th of February. We are really looking forward to meeting our new Junior Infants next September!!
If you didn't have the chance to attend the open day, enrolment forms are available to download from our website (or here). Please ensure all pages are filled out. They can be dropped into the school at any time.
Christmas Concert 2015

Reel Life Science
4th 5th and 6th class with their teacher, Mrs. Lavin, recently entered the Reel Life Science competition. Canadian astronaut, Commander Chris Hadfield is part of the judging team, so the girls were really excited to make the best entry they could! For more information on the competition go to: http://reellifescience.com/ and to see our entry, watch the video below!
6th Class Graduation 2015
We've just uploaded the video from last year's 6th class graduation. We miss all the girls, but we hope they're doing well in secondary school!
Ripples in the Rockpool
4th, 5th and 6th class, with their teacher Ms McNamara, created and performed their own rendition of "Ripples in the Rockpools" by Shaun Davey. It was part of our end-of-year talent show, which is why everyone is wearing such interesting costumes!
Junior and Senior Infants performing their poem "A Chubby Little Snowman" at the Christmas concert 2014. (Thanks to Natasha for the video!)
