Kate was taking part in Tech Week this month, which is a week long event to promote IT and technology to children and students when they go to third level education. She had to take a tech selfie, answer IT surveys and complete quizzes on modern technology all week long.
One of the coolest things was learning how to use the free programming language, Scratch. With this programme, people (especially kids!) can design games, animations, quizzes, music videos - ANYTHING they can think of with their imagination. Because we only had a few weeks, Kate started with some games that seem "simple", but when you look at them, check out all the programming that goes inside to make the games work! It's actually very complicated!
Kate's activities were registered as an event for Tech Week, and we wish her all the best having her entries and surveys considered in the competition! We look forward to playing many more games created by her!
A record of our activities in the Resource room!
