Today we looked at a really exotic fruit - dragonfruit! We learned that it comes from Central America and South East Asia (especially Thailand and Vietnam). We think it's got the word "dragon" in it, because the skin on the outside looks like big scales - like a dragon would have. It's shaped a bit like a rugby ball and it's bright pink. We learned that it's usually surprisingly white on the inside, with lots of black seeds, but our sample was one that was pink on the inside. It was so pink, actually, that it stained our fingers. We decided it could be a very good lipstick!

It's almost Easter! We thought we were just getting a surprise trip to the playground, but we also had an Easter Egg hunt!!! We divided into teams and had to find the coloured eggs that matched our team. After that we got to play in the playground! We were also delighted when Padraic's mum gave us a HUGE Easter cake! It was delicious!!! Thank you!
Here we are at work in our classroom. We were practicing retelling a story. It takes a lot of concentration to be sure we remember the characters, the setting, the problem and the solution! We practiced first by retelling stories and fairy tales we all knew, like Little Red Riding Hood and Hansel and Gretel. Then we added an extra challenge by planning and writing our own stories and including all the steps!
