We had a short but challenging week of Power Hour this week! We are flying through our books now - our families are really helping us get better and better at reading!
We have a whole lot of star pupils this week who used their lunch break to help tidy our school yard! As part of keeping our Green Flag, we have to manage the litter in our school. Our pupils are all very good, but litter often blows in from other places or careless people. Luckily, we have a great team at school to keep on top of it!
We were delighted to welcome Caroline and Colin from the Galway Butterfly Project to our school today. Colin had amazing photos of all the 35 butterflies we can find in Ireland, and loads of information to tell us about them all. We are really looking forward to when the weather gets a little more butterfly-friendly and we can start using our new skills to find, photograph and report on the types of butterflies in our area! Have a look at Biodiversity Ireland's website for more information, or for how to get your family involved.
We had such a lovely morning carol singing in the town. It was great to see our families and community out to support us. We have to say "thank you" to the two local businesses that supported us - Monaghan's Topaz and Supermacs, and Joyce's Supermarket. And we want to say an extra special THANK YOU and Merry Christmas to the staff at Monaghan's for surprising us with chips, sausages, drinks and sweets! It really made our day!

We would love to accept any photos or videos from parents and families, if you would like to add them to our website. Feel free to drop them into the office on a USB stick or CD, or you can email them to the school (email@example.com).
