Space Week 2016

We had a very busy week during space week as you can see. We learnt all about the planets, the sun and moon. We rapped with the Storybots and made our own mini planet books. 

We learnt all about static and how it can make paper fly .... and also make our hair go CRAZY! (This was an extra experiment we did during space week)

We learnt about how real rockets work and did an experiment using vitamin c tablets, water and yogurt and vitamin c containers. The gas fizzed up so much it made the lids shoot off and touch the ceiling! We had a competition to see who's rocket exploded the most. It was so much fun (Miss Dooley was too busy helping to  launch rockets to take photographs) and very noisy! 

We made mouse rockets using paper and had races launching them into the air in the school hall.

We made raisins dance - similar to astronauts bobbing up and down in space. We watched Neil Armstrong dancing up and down on the moon. 

4th, 5th and 6th class made straw rockets with us in our classroom. We launched them down in the school hall. 

Some of us even made our very own rockets at home! WOW
