April is An Taisce's National Spring Clean month in Ireland. We are very proud of our community and our school, so we decided to help out by doing a litter pick in our own school grounds. We had cool bags and vests too! 4th class, Senior Infants and Junior Infants all took part.
We would like all of our families to continue to help us by being litter aware: use less, recycle more and don't litter! Help us keep an eye on our school and our town by picking up any litter you or your family drop by mistake. Keep the area around our school and our homes clean, and let people know what you learn about what can be recycled and what is damaging to our environment. Be aware of broken glass on the street as it can be very dangerous for small children and our pets. Anyone can also do a #2MinuteStreetClean. If you're going for a walk, get some gloves and bag and grab what litter you can in 2 minutes! Take a picture and tag it, or send it to Headford Spring Clean on Facebook. We are lucky to finally have a public playground in Headford, as well as looped walks like the Demesne and the Weaslepark. We need to keep our community clean for ourselves and for everyone, and telling people about what we learn as well as doing our bit to look after the environment will benefit us all!

Kate in 5th class is entering the eir Junior Spiders website competition. She has designed her own website for her competition entry, and it is all about how to play Minecraft! It is especially useful if you are a beginner to the game, but it is also filling up with information that will be interesting and helpful for more advanced players. Be sure to check her site out! Click the block below to get to her site.
Check out our Instagram for some pictures from our (very wet!) parade on Friday! Feel free to tag us in any photos you took of the event. :)
