It's been a fantastic week in the 2nd and 3rd class room. Everyone has been working very hard and trying their very best everyday. We are all really enjoying it. Roll on week 2!
At last we reached the final week of the senior classes Power Hour. This week we were working on Persuasive Texts, but despite how good we are at arguing our point, we can't persuade Power Hour to last any longer!
The penultimate week of senior Power Hour is here! We were working on the explanatory genre this week, and can tell you loads of information about the process of recycling, how to protect yourself in the sunshine and what a frog's life cycle entails. Ask us!
Two thirds of the way through our senior classes' Power Hour already! This week we focused on Reports as a writing genre, reading topic, spelling list and planning tool. We came up with some very creative ideas for reports - even some crazy inventions from the future! Follow the 'Read More' link to see extra photos.
Another week of hard work whizzed by in the senior classes! We were studying Procedural Writing, amongst other things, this week. Ask us about recipes, experiments or beauty vlogs and we can tell you exactly how they follow the Procedural Writing genre!
Congratulations to all the Junior Infants on receiving their Power Hour certificates and stampers today! They are now starting the Read-At-Home phase of Power Hour, and are very excited to see all the new books in their folders!
Aaaaaand... that's it! Junior Infants have completed their Power Hour programme! Well done to all the children (and their families who listened to their reading and read with them at home). Have a look at the final pictures from this week below.
We had a short but challenging week of Power Hour this week! We are flying through our books now - our families are really helping us get better and better at reading!
We have been reading, writing, listening and speaking about so many books and topics these last four weeks. We are very talented kids - bring it on, Power Hour!
We mixed it up a bit this week, working on iPads as well as normal paper! We are excellent readers - it's great to have a new book to look forward to every week!
