Aaaaaand that's the end of Power Hour for 2nd and 3rd classes! It's been so much fun over the last six weeks - and very busy! But, as you know, we are very hard workers and very smart pupils and we were fantastic. This week we did secret agent letters, crazy shared stories, Christmas puzzles and we read the final books of our current section. We are champions!
One of the activities we did this week was Blind Writing. We had to listen carefully to some dictation, and then write it out from memory - while blindfolded! It was very tricky, and we were very surprised by the results! Have a look in 'Read More;!
We are covering so much work during Power Hour, that it's nearly hard to remember it all sometimes! As well as reading A LOT of new books this week, we did dictionary work, cloze activities, grammar tasks, phonics, dictation and handwriting. Can you believe we fit that all into one hour?! We're brilliant! Have a look at our Instagram to keep up to date with our activities!
One of the things we started today was our Food Dudes programme. We are really excited about working towards our rewards and certificates. Today we got to taste some carrot sticks and grapes - and they were yummy! We are bringing home our Food Dude diaries tonight too, and if we manage to eat another portion of both fruit and veg at home every evening for the next 16 school days (and keep track of it), we will get another certificate!
We had such a busy day today - so many exciting things were happening. We had a visit from Noelle who taught us how to use K'nex to build a whole variety of inventions - horses, giraffes and monsters, right up to motorised cars that we could actually race! Our teachers were so pleased to hear that she thought we were really curious and well-behaved children. Noelle even told us we were now "knexperts"!

Another great week of Power Hour work under our belts! 2nd and 3rd classes worked hard on a lot of literacy skills this week: reading, dictionary work, grammar, comprehension and handwriting! And what's more, we had fun doing it! Click "Read More" to see our gallery.
We would love to accept any photos or videos from parents and families, if you would like to add them to our website. Feel free to drop them into the office on a USB stick or CD, or you can email them to the school (email@example.com).
